Marit Barber

Marit is from the North Carolina coast but has called Charleston home since 2018. A former competitive gymnast and long-distance runner, Marit found her confidence in the weight room during college. She also grew up in a home that highly valued movement and fitness—with parent figures who worked in nutrition and college athletics. All of these experiences shaped her passion for helping others feel strong, capable, and comfortable in the gym.   She earned her BSW from Appalachian State and her MSW from UNC Chapel Hill, and has recently transitioned from social work to wedding and portrait photography. Her faith and her love for people guide her both behind the camera and in coaching. When she’s not at the gym, you’ll find her traveling, reading on the beach, or spending time with her golden retriever, Sullivan.
